ever poke a hole in a water balloon. watch the water slowly leak out. then poke another one and the water comes out even faster. one hole represents the economy that is slowly falling sucking the life out of the nation. another hole is the war that is costing billions to fight. another hole is the poor that are sucking the well-fair up and sitting at home making more money than the working class. another hole is the housing market where peoples homes there biggest investment have fallen to the point where there gas guzzling once popular SUV full of gas has more value. there is enough ';holes'; in the water balloon that its pouring out. and all the government can do is think that if they put a piece of tape on the economy hole that it will fix everything. but the tape held for only a short time till the hole got bigger and then the tape got wet and fell off and failed. slowly our balloon will run out of water and we will have a huge problem that no one will be able to fix.What is the state of our Nation as a whole?
Back in the '90s, Bill Clinton did wonders for our economy (remember sub $1 gas?) and for our diplomatic standing in the world.
The bad news is that we are losing our grip as the most powerful, influential country in the world because of our current president. Look at our economy. Look at the housing markets. Look at the disaster that is Iraq.
On the other hand, things are looking up since Obama will be our president for the next eight years. With his appointments to the Supreme Court, the current conservative majority will not gain any more power than it already has. Not to mention the major gains in Congress the dems will get this year.
Cons, your future is grim. Bush has sunk your ship. Seriously, you're in trouble.

We're in a bad way and need a leader who can sit down and work with everyone to find solutions. Not someone who's think a $600.00 check is going to make everything OK. Or someone that thinks the credit markets are fine. Someone who knows that business as usual isn't working and that we need a break with the old ways and a new direction. Lets see .......... who has those qualities. Self-made, well-educated, willing to talk rather than rattling swords, open to ideas ....... That's why The Republicans are scared, because there's only one person who fits that criteria.
