What Cosmopolitanism and national identity - is identity transcending the confines of the nation state?

Considering what is argued as the trans/post national nexus we occupy at present is cosmopolitanism a burgeoning programme. Does this cosmopolitanism connote a degree of homogeneity as borders and delineations disintegrate? What Cosmopolitanism and national identity - is identity transcending the confines of the nation state?
Not homogeneity. Just mutual respect and tolerance. What Cosmopolitanism and national identity - is identity transcending the confines of the nation state?
If you travel around the world, you'll see that national identy is still strong all around the world. People are suggesting that using Euros or sharing some resources creates homogeneity - but cultural identy isn't affected by those things.

Get off the beaten path and talk to people - you'll see mankind changes very little.
I believe all nations are moving towards a secular, socialist state, within 100 years, and then wmds will be disarmed and there will be a World Government setup afterward.
