What is the difference between the state of the nation address and the state of the union address?

I thought I remember it being the state of the union address but last night it was state of the nation. Did they change the name? What is the difference between the state of the nation address and the state of the union address?
';State of the Union Address'; occurs in January in non-election years as required by the Constitution. It does not happen on presidential election years. Instead, there is an Inaugural Address those years.

I don't know where you picked up the ';State of the Nation'; title. Obama's speech tues night was an address to a Joint Session of Congress. Those can happen whenever the appropriate people choose to schedule it. Joint Sessions of Congress require a concurrent resolution from both House and Senate to meet. What is the difference between the state of the nation address and the state of the union address?
obama voters wanted change! This is what they got! If you were an obama voter celebrate! This is the only change you are likely to see!
