What is the nature and origin of Nation-state?

Very good answer.

If you are American, you have to remember that state is actually used in this case in place of country. State=Country

Naiton-- A people who share common customs, origins, history, and frequently language; a nationality

State-- A body politic, especially one constituting a nationWhat is the nature and origin of Nation-state?
Nation-state = a state where one group of people live. They have chosen boundaries, have the same language, culture and traditions. The first nation-state is France, formed shortly after the 100 Years' War. England followed shortly after. Then Spain became a nation-state with the marriage of Ferdinand of Aragon and Isabella of Castilla. The nationalist movement continued in the 1800s, and the countries that were first to become nation-states were Haiti (1804), Greece (1824), Mexico, and Brazil (1820s).
